Find a(n iOS) device

The device you pick should have a camera and some form of “guided access,” “kiosk mode,” or guided restricted permissions so that your visitors don’t get access to a free second-hand device that’s fully unlocked.

Hit "Get Started" in SnipVia

On the device you plan to make a "smart doorbell" hit “Get Started” at the SnipVia homepage, or through the link at the top of this page. You’ll be redirected to your device set-up form.

Fill out the form

Fill out the form with all the correct information. You'll need access to the email address you provide, so be sure to fill in the information correctly!

Check the email you provided

Check the inbox for the email you provided in the form. The email titled "Your doorbell PIN" from SnipVia will contain a pin to unlock your doorbell's URL.

Visit the URL and enter the pin

On the device you plan to make a smart doorbell, visit the URL provided in the screen following the form (you should be redirected after filling the form), and enter the pin you received in your email. If you lose the URL, refer to the email.

Set up your doorbell

Enable the restricted access mode on your doorbell, and set it up for the URL of the webpage. Disable all buttons, and ensure that you allow access to the webcam.

Place the device

After the device is secured with restricted access and set to the correct SnipVia URL, place the device in a safe location where visitors can access it to tap the "Ring Doorbell" button.

Start monitoring

Make sure you have your email notifications turned on. Whenever someone interacts with your new smart doorbell, you'll receive an email. Simple as that!
